Another new Santa Ana park opening on Oct. 27!

Grand Opening of the City’s First Exercise Park

SANTA ANA, CA – (October 23, 2012) – The City of Santa Ana, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency proudly announces the opening of a new exercise park in the Madison Park Neighborhood. On October 27, 2012, at 9 a.m. a Ribbon Cutting ceremony will take place at this exciting new park, which is located, adjacent to the very popular Pacific Electric bike trail. This new .41-acre park is located on Maple Street just north of Occidental Street. As you are biking, walking or running south on the Pacific Electric trail, you will find this new oasis of health just south of Edinger Ave. The ceremony will take place at 9 a.m., where light refreshments will be served and a drawing will be held for a new bike. SANTA ANA, CA (October 16, 2012) – The City of Santa Ana, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency proudly announces the opening of three new parks along the Santa Ana River Trail: 17th Street Triangle (.66 acres), Fairview Triangle (.30 acres) and McFadden Triangle (.78 acres). SANTA ANA (CA) – After a long time, through many difficulties, under the enthusiastic help of effort and money from donors and Buddhists in many places, especially Council Member Santa Ana, Bao Quang Temple was officially inaugurated on Sunday morning, with the spacious, majesty and the splendor, before hundreds of religious clergy, visitors and community members.

Discovery Science Center launches $62 million capital campaign

The DSC’s largest fundraising effort to date will expand and enhance the center

Santa Ana nonprofit organization and educational destination, the Discovery Science Center on Saturday revealed its $62 million capital fundraising campaign to support an expansion of the popular educational center for families and kids. The announcement was made at The Discovery Science Center (DSC) 2012 Gala last weekend, themed “Building for the Future.” The event marked the public launch of the campaign, which has already generated $10 million in contributions.
