Mayor Miguel Pulido takes a stand for our Vietnamese American community

Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido met with the local Vietnamese American press and community this week on Nov. 1, to introduce a resolution that he will place on the Santa Ana City Council’s agenda, to discuss at the next Council meeting.

The resolution is one that local Vietnamese American activists have been pursuing for some time.  As one might expect, there was a lot of interest in this resolution. Articles were printed on the front page of NGUOI VIET daily news and VIET BAO daily news. The story also made the front page on SAIGON NHO daily news. The Press Conference was also reported by Vietnamese language TV stations such as STBN (a national TV station), VHN-TV (national TV) and on local channel such as VAN-TV (57.5), SET-TV (57.4) and FREEVN.TV.

The City of Westminster passed a similar resolution that was also very well received by the community.  Click here to read Westminster’s ordinance.

Mayor Pulido would also like to recognize the ongoing contributions of Santa Ana’s Ambassador to the local Vietnamese American community, Mr. Ken Nguyen.
